The only manual grinders I know of are Landis. It is like an OD grinder, but the workholding centers are on a rocking mechanism. The rocking is actuated by a master cam, about 5" in diameter (IIRC), indexed to the camshaft. Because the profile is good at only one specific wheel diameter, profiles are only an approximation of desired.
