Most smaller mills will only let you handle slide work and won't be nearly rugged enough to take big cuts from. Clamping will be a problem. You won't have enough Z travel to do any frame work where you'll need to stand the frame vertical. Keep in mind that the size of the mill vise will also eat up Z travel.
