Any project that requires grinding concrete - What I Hate ...

What I hate: any project that involves grinding concrete. I had to mount something to a poured-concrete wall, the wall had some uneven bumps on it so I used an angle-grinder with a concrete-grinding disc to knock-down the high spots so the item would mount flush to the wall. Now, I have used an a...

I was wondering if anyone has tried grinding down that much concrete. Its about one inch at the furthest point and one foot by 12 feet, and the amount to be removed obviously gets less as it gets closer to the door. Any info appreciated. Those companies that towns use to do curb cuts might be able to handle cutting it.

concrete grinding - Eng-Tips Forums

There was a lot of aggregate and larger diameters, and this concrete compared to other slabs I have ground before was exceptionally durable and abrasion resistant. There was almost no edge chipping, and it took about 20 minutes of back and forth grinding just to do about four feet, about 5 times longer than similar joints.

Lots of info out there for grinding concrete but not so much for my application. Was thinking about trying a cup wheel on the 5" grinder but I'm starting with a pretty rough surface (off the jackhammer) I've never used one personally and not sure if it would be up to the task.
