I have a mixture of 40 NMTB Erickson, DeVlieg, and Kennametal holders for my Boston Digital CNC mill and all fit with no problem. I have a few generic 40 taper end mill holders that had flanges that were too thick. They were easy to turn down with a carbide bit. Be careful, though.

Update: Shars has now posted some end mill holders that they say have the right flange thickness and diameter to fit the Erickson Quick Change spindle. I have ordered a 1/4" end mill holder and will report back on the fit. Hopefully I'll have enough time to test the runout and overall fit and finish too.

I think the quick change or quick switch 30 tool holders are available but they are expensive. I have a BP that has the quick change spindle also. My mill did not come with any tooling so I removed the quick change lock collar and made a 1/2 draw-bar and went with NMTB 30 tooling and have never looked back.

Start with decent side-lock end mill holders as the most readily assured value-for-money. Have at least two, if not several, in common sizes before you call it good. Part of 'quick' change is to not HAVE to change tooling in one holder any more than holder to spindle.
