Of the four wheels, this removes material the fastest. It also produces hot, large sparks. Be sure that the sparks are not hitting anything you care about.

The arc favors one side or the other, some times I get the tungsten point so close to the side the arc jumps out the side of the tungten to got to the other side. My latest attemps have been on 3/16" wall 1" square aluminum tube welding tee's.

If you really have to get in there try a file, or a grinder with a narrow cut off wheel. Either of those will take a while but a wire brush will take forever. Comment.

I dont often finish fillet welds on plate with them, but when I have they worked great. We built a hydraulic pump rack once and we used this neat belt grinder that used a 3/8" wide sanding belt that rolled over a wheel.
