Now the Haas Mini-mill can come with a 7.5 HP motor. But it has 33ft lb of torque at 1,200 RPM. I don't know if the Mini-mill motor is the same or equivalent to the VF-0 motor. If they ARE similar - that 7.5 HP is developed at 1200 RPM and would probably fall precipitously as the RPM increases.

Real output power will be limited by taper (R8) to about 2-3 Hp at the tool. The real MRR may be 3-4x better than otherwise, if .. you use rougher end mills you climb mill. (This needs ballscrews, afaik). So it maybe makes sense to buy rougher end mills - because you can get 3-4 times the machine output from them in MRR terms.
