Only one toolpost grinder has a motor under 1/4 HP, and it has a 1/8" chuck. All the other grinders have motors of 1/4 hp, up to 5 hp (!), with the most common size among several manufacturers being 1/2 hp. Based only on that info, I'm inclined to think that what you want is a 1/4 HP or larger universal or DC motor.
