The grinder didn't need any adjustments. Pulls a double shot in 25-32 seconds every time. The pull time is my tamping pressure variation, as the Breville filter basket is a bit shallow on the sides. I seem to bottom out the tamper. This grinder was a good purchase. I hope Amazon starts selling both the doser and doserless models.

IMO, it takes a couple of shots due to clearing the old remnants for an adjustment become fully effective. The Macap M4D is a nice timed, doserless grinder. The Mini E maybe a better grinder, but it's much less user friendly. The M4D has gotten a bit of a bad rap on H-B, but I know a couple of espressionists who love them.
