I've seen a couple threads and examples of horizontal milling machines with different configurations of a Vertical milling head mounted on it. We've got an old Cincinnati Mill (MH2 I think) that's set up with a vertical Tree Mill head bolted to a home-made ram. It works! Doubles a heavyer duty machine for lighter duty work.

I have a 1938 Cincinnati No.2 MH milling machine that features a vertical milling head (see first picture). The serial number is 5A2P1F-52. It looks like the lower end is OK for lubricant but I'm concerned about the top end. Before I start running it I want to ensure that the top end is properly lubricated. The grease fittings have been serviced.

The table is around 54" x 12". It is set up on VFDs to run the 3 phase motors on single phase power. The vertical head has variable speed control.
